Day 1: Pick up-Transfer to Kampala
On arrival at the Entebbe International airport you will obtain a visa at the immigration department before meeting up with our driver guide who will transfer you to Kampala City for dinner and overnight stay. Remember Kampala is the capital city of Uganda and it has several tourist attractions to explore just in case your flight is for early morning or early afternoon hours.
Day 2: Kampala-Kasese
Have tasty breakfast at your comfortable lodge and later transfer to Kasese-mount Rwenzori also known as mountain of the moon. Different stops will be made at places of tourism interest including the Uganda Equator, Igongo Cultural museum, plusMother Nature. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3:Nyakalengija – Nyabitaba Hut
Early morning, dress right and report to Rwenzori Mountaineering services headquarters, get the hiking equipment, porters and guides and start your first day of your hiking safari from Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Hut.
Day 4:Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte hut
After your breakfast at Nyabitaba Hut, embark on your way to John matte Hut a journey that takes 5-6 hours close to Bujuku and Mubuku rivers. The path is a little bit muddy and slippery through rocks so you need good walking shoes. Dinner and overnight stay at John Matte hut.
Day 5:John Matte hut – Bujuku hut
You will cross from John Matte to Bujuku with a rewarding hike on a 6km .The path still is muddy and wet but manageable .Catch up with wonderful views of the mountain peak and its surrounding at Bigo hut before proceeding to Bujuku hut for dinner and overnight stay. During the hike you will also have a chance of seeing some primates, birds and much more.
Day 6:Bujuku hut to Kitandara hut
Of course no hiking safari in Uganda is complete without a visit to mountain Rwenzori National Park that offers the finest hikes with various eye catching views and beautiful sun rise in mornings plus sunset. However on this day the hike is quite short and the tail covers 4km to Kitandara hut where you have dinner and spend an overnight.
Day 7:Kitandara hut – Guy yeoman hut
After breakfast hike up from Kitandara hut to Guy yeoman and the journey takes 5-6 hours. At Kitandara Lake, you will feed eyes with impressive views of Democratic Republic of Congo. The tough hike goes through a mud trail but it becomes more exciting when you see mount stanely.Dinner and overnight at Guy Yeoman hut.
Day 8: Guy Yeoman hut – Nyabitaba
After breakfast embark on a 5 hour hike which involves descending a steep slope and if you not fit enough it calls for some help from your porter or travel buddy. You have to cross a river to Nyabitaba hut for overnight and dinner.
Day 9:Nyabitaba hut Nyakalengija Hike
After breakfast hike back to Rwenzori mountain climbing services and the journey takes 2-3 hours .Upon arrival spend a few hours t leisure before transferring to Queen Elizabeth for Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Morning game drive & afternoon boat cruise
Start the day with a morning game drive to see all the attractive wildlife of the park before having breakfast at the lodge of your residence. After lunch explore the beautiful Kazinga channel that joins George and Edward. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking and Return back to Kampala
Track chimpanzees in the morning and drive aback to Kampala with a drop off at your lodge or agreed destination.
