The mountain gorillas in Mgahinga are superb and the trek to where they are found is amazing. The park is beautiful with thousand eye catching views, natural vegetation and the magical volcanoes that sit high in clouds.
Day 1; Kampala- Mgahinga National Park
Wake up ready for the scenic drive to beautiful park and a home to Nyakagezi gorillas. Stop at the Uganda Equator, Igongo cultural museum, Mbarara town and later to kisoro town where you will spend a night. Meals and overnight at your lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Tour
Seeing gorillas are an experience of a life time and spending an hour with them watching them play, interact with each other is a great moment hard to forget. However, all this starts with a briefing from park rangers about the dos and don’ts of gorilla tracking safaris in Uganda. Baby gorillas are awesome from looks to character, they play around with the silver back and amazingly they behave just like humans.
All you need are the good hiking shoes ,lots of drinking water, a few snacks and a few snacks. If you track gorillas during the dry season, at times it becomes hot during the trek that warm wears become luggage. However, they are very essential in morning hours before sunrise. Enjoy the trip of a life time with dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3: Volcanoes hiking
Have breakfast, wear comfortable hiking shoes, carry enough drinking water, snacks and lunch and later embark of the day’s volcanoes climbing experience. It’s very magical that while at the top, you have the most incredible view of the three gorilla trekking countries, Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. Later head out to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. Meals and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi- Kampala
After having enough rest, wake up at the time breakfast and later drive back to Kampala arriving late afternoon,
